Personal Data Processing Notice
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (“IMM”) pays attention to the protection of personal and non-personal data of its visitors who interact with the Istanbul Design Inventory website (“Site”) and to the confidentiality of this information. This document explains what data is obtained from our visitors who choose to visit our Site and / or benefit from the services provided within the Site, how this data is collected and how IMM uses this data and what your rights are regarding your data, and how you can exercise these rights.
a. Data Supervisor
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (“IMM”) has the title of “data supervisor” within the scope of the Personal Data Protection Law No.6698 (“GDPR”) in terms of your personal data to be processed during the creation of the Istanbul Design Inventory to be prepared within the scope of the Istanbul Design Center and Platform activities.
b. Which personal data do we collect?
When you fill out the form during the creation of the Istanbul Design Inventory, as well as the information about your institution, as the person representing your institution:
You share your personal data with us, which is:
– your name and surname,
– your e-mail address and
– your phone number
We ask you to make sure that the following special quality data is not included in your communication with us:
– race,
– ethnicity,
– political orientation,
– philosophical belief,
– religion, sect or other beliefs,
– costume and dress,
– data on health, sexual life,
– data on criminal convictions and security measures,
– biometric and genetic data.
c. For What Purposes Is Your Personal Data Processed?
IMM can operate your personal data in a limited and measured manner and in accordance with the conditions specified in articles 5 and 6 of the GDPR, in order to:
– Create an Istanbul Design Inventory to be prepared within the scope of Istanbul Design Center and Platform,
– Communicate with you regarding the Istanbul Design Center and Platform and the Istanbul Design Inventory,
– Provide information about the events and contents to be organized within the scope of Istanbul Design Center and Platform and Istanbul Design Inventory
D. Who Can Access Your Personal Data and For What Purposes?
Your e-mail address, which you prefer to appear on the Istanbul Design Inventory website panel, will be visible to everyone. For the security of your personal data, it is recommended to use your corporate e-mail address instead of your personal e-mail address. You are fully responsible for the choice of your e-mail address that will be accessible to everyone.
In order to carry out our activities regarding the creation of the Istanbul Design Inventory limited to the realization of the above-mentioned objectives, IMM may transfer:
-to external service providers to store in country servers
– to legally authorized public institutions and judicial bodies in accordance with, and limited to the purpose of the request, the requests of the related public institutions
within the context and purpose of personal data processing indicated in Articles 8 and 9 of the GDPR.
e. What is the Legal Ground and Method of Personal Data Collection?
Your personal data is processed based on your explicit consent by filling out an online application form in order to carry out the activities related to the creation of the Istanbul Design Inventory.
f. What is the Processing and Storage Period of Your Personal Data?
In accordance with Article 4 and Article 7 of the GDPR, IMM stores the personal data it processes only for the period stipulated in the relevant legislation or required by the personal data processing purpose. In this context, it is first determined whether a certain period is stipulated in the relevant legislation for the storage of personal data subject to processing. If a legal period has been determined, it is duly followed. After the legal period ceases, your personal data will be deleted, destroyed or anonymized by IMM.
h. As a Personal Data Owner, What Are Your Rights Stipulated in Article 11 of GDPR?
As a personal data owner, we confirm that you have the following rights in accordance with Article 11 of the GDPR:
– To learn whether your personal data is being processed,
– To request information if your personal data has been processed
– To learn the purpose of processing your personal data and whether it is used in accordance with the purpose of processing,
– To be informed on the third parties in the country or abroad to whom your personal data has been transferred,
– To request correction of your personal data in case of incomplete or incorrect processing,
– To request the deletion or destruction of your personal data within the framework of the conditions stipulated in the relevant legislation,
– To request notification of the correction, deletion and destruction processes made in accordance with the relevant legislation to third parties with whom your personal data is shared,
– To object to the occurrence of a result against you by analyzing your processed personal data exclusively through automated systems,
– To request the compensation of damage if you suffer from the unlawful processing of your personal data.
You can submit your requests regarding your above-mentioned rights in writing to the address of IMM below via a notice sent by a notary or in person by submitting an ID. Your requests will be evaluated and resolved free of charge in a short time and ultimately within thirty (30) days at the latest. If the evaluation and decision-making process requires an additional cost, the fee in the tariff determined by the GDPR will prevail.
